Monday is feeding day for me. I don’t mean I eat constantly, although that may be true, but I mean feeding my heart and my brain. I tend to spend most of Monday reading people who I respect in ministry and who can teach me something about myself, Christ or church leadership. I listen to messages from other pastors who spoke on Sunday and I read and reflect on scripture.
Monday is a great day for me to do this, because Sunday is a day that drains me emotionally. As a pastor, you spend all of your week thinking, praying and planning for Sunday. Then you give all of your effort to communicate what God has spoken to you. A pastor friend of mine describes it as giving birth on Sunday and finding out Monday your pregnant again. In other words, Monday is the day where I am most vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.
